Safety is at the heart of the WhatsApp experience. It's important that your community is a safe space where people can connect meaningfully. Listed below are the tools and features we've designed to help keep you and your members safe.
How to Keep your Account Safe and Private on WhatsApp
1. Encryption.
Privacy and security are in our DNA, which is why we built end-to-end encryption into Communities. End-to-end encryption means only you and the person you’re communicating with can read or listen to what's sent. There's nobody in between, not even WhatsApp.

2. Account security.
To keep your account secure, you should enable the two-step verification. If someone tries to log in to your WhatsApp account from a different device, they will be required to enter a 6-digit code sent to your number, plus an additional personal identification number (PIN). Never share your pin with anyone. As an additional security measure you can lock the WhatsApp account on your phone and/or desktop using your Fingerprint or Face ID.
3. Control what you send and see.
You can set up messages to disappear 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days after they are sent. For added privacy, you can send photos and videos that disappear from your WhatsApp chat after the recipient has opened them once. To avoid spreaading rumors, viral messages and fake news, be careful what you forward - especially if it's a chain message and the “Forwarded many times" label is displayed.
4. Block and report.
You can stop receiving messages, calls and status updates from certain contacts by blocking them. You can also report problematic messages and accounts by long-pressing a single message.
How to Keep your Community Safe
1. Admin controls.
As an admin, you're empowered to keep your community safe. You can restrict who can change a Group’s subject, icon, and description.
Admins can delete unwanted messages or remove disruptive members from the community. You can also remove a group or deactivate a community as required. When inviting new members to join, don't post the link to your group on a public forum or website, only share it with people you know.
2. Group permissions.
As a member, you decide who can add you to a Group. If you want to exit a Group you've been added to, you can do so quietly. Only the admin will know.
3. Member tools.
Members can leave a Community by using the exit community feature. Any inappropriate or harmful content should be reported to WhatsApp, to help us keep it safe. If a Community becomes too noisy, members can mute group notifications.
