Scoopup

For small businesses, standing out in the crowd is a big feat. But thankfully, there are businesses like Scoopup that are helping them step into the spotlight.

Started by Rishad Bangalath and his co-founder Sanoop Joy, Scoopup helps small-sized retail outlets create content and loyalty programs to maintain customers, serving a wide variety of industries like restaurants, spas, coffee houses, and stores. Rishad and his team of 40 members use the WhatsApp Business app to keep communication organized and efficient.

“We have been using the WhatsApp Business app and its various features for the past one year and have witnessed an increase in sales up to 70 percent,” says Rishad, citing the quick replies and labels features as especially useful.

However, creating a solution for businesses and making a sustainable company out of it wasn’t an easy task.

“For us, the greatest problems were customer retention and communication,” says Rishad. This was because most small retailers relied on traditional methods of communication and were not ready to cover the learning curve that comes with new technology. This was overcome by showing them the greater reach and impact that being on an online platform would have on customer engagement.

With future plans of expanding to the Middle East and other countries in Asia, Rishad says that the WhatsApp Business app is an important part of their business and will continue to power them on. So they, in turn, can power on others.
