Sangyan means Cognition. Simply put, The Sangyan is an endeavour to take cognizance and document experiences, issues, and stories, especially of subjects and perspectives requiring better attention and documentation from legal and policy, political, environmental, social, economic, cultural, indigenous, and civilizational, among other perspectives and vantage points.
The core principle of The Sangyan is Dharma [The Right Thing To Do - A person’s moral and social obligations both as an individual and also as a member of society], Nyaya [outcome-oriented justice] and Niti [concept of rule-based laws and policies]. The motto [ध्येयवाक्य] of The Sangyan is "कालाति क्रमात् काल एव फलम पिबति" [when the right thing is not done at the right time then the time itself destroys the essence]. The Sangyan firmly believes in 'Panch Rna' (Five Duties) and 'Lifestyle For Environment'.
