Marta González Pérez, owner of Marta Cerámica, a popular ceramics studio and shop in Madrid's Arganzuela district, dreamed of a career in clay since she was seven years old.
Now, as an artist, teacher and business owner, she looks forward to creating beautiful ceramic pieces and sharing her love of clay with others every day.
“Being creative and being able to do something with your hands makes you think you can do anything in your life,” says Marta. “It heals your soul. When I open the door of my studio I instantly feel good.”
But teaching up to 36 hours a week and interacting with almost 1,000 clients and students every month, she has her hands full.
To handle the heavy workload, Marta turned to WhatsApp Business.
“WhatsApp Business helps me every day in every moment,” she says. “It helps me survive every day.”
The business profile feature on WhatsApp Business means Marta's students and clients no longer need to ask her about her studio's opening hours and location. Marta also loves being able to send WhatsApp voice messages when her hands are covered in clay; a personal touch that makes each message unique and tailored to the recipient. And when she has her artist's hat on, Marta also finds that WhatsApp's photo and video capabilities help showcase her professional ceramic work to clients, old and new.
"If I want to book a class, cancel or Marta wants to tell us something, we use WhatsApp; communication is quick and simple”
Customers and students love communicating with Marta via WhatsApp. This is how Clara Martin found the studio and signed up for classes. “I was impressed that Marta would send a WhatsApp message with all the information we needed for class, like the schedule, materials we are going to use, different techniques. That’s nice to have in the same message,” she says.
Francisco “Paco” Luna, another student, appreciates the efficiency of their exchanges. “If I want to book a class, cancel or Marta wants to tell us something, we use WhatsApp; communication is quick and simple.”
With WhatsApp Business, Marta is overcoming the many challenges of running a popular business. And, more importantly, realizing her childhood dream.
