Edy Munandar always wanted to be his own boss.

So in 2013, spotting an opportunity to turn a screen printing hobby into a business, Edy quit his office job and launched Sriwijaya Grafika, a venture specializing in outdoor advertising and signage in Palembang, Indonesia.

When Edy started out, he had to meet customers in person to discuss design and order details. With too many customers to meet and not enough hours in a day, Edy needed a more efficient solution. So, he turned to the WhatsApp Business app.

Hendri Kurniawan, another customer who puts up public notice signage, adds, "Sometimes I don't have time to go to a location and put signs up myself so I ask Edy to help me; I just send him the sign's intended location via WhatsApp.”

By turning a hobby into a business, Edy has found the professional freedom he has always wanted. And with the WhatsApp Business app, he's able to make the customer interactions Sriwijaya Grafika thrives on smoother and even more efficient.
