Searching for a rented office, flat or even a paying guest accommodation is a challenge for students, working professionals, and entrepreneurs. So in 2016, Shobhit Rajput and Sumit Gupta decided to do something about it and started RentMantra, a no-broker rental platform that lists properties that are personally verified by the team.
“Our main inspiration was to help the millions of tenants in metros who come from different cities and search for rented properties,” says Shobhit.
The Noida-based RentMantra platform provides end-to-end rental services to tenants, and also helps with preparing rental agreements, arranging packers and movers’ services, and provides exclusive services to commercial tenants and owners.
“We understand the pain of entrepreneurs who start a business with very little money, which makes paying high brokerage for an office space tough,” says Sumit.
RentMantra has been using the WhatsApp Business app for over a year to communicate with its users. Using the app, they provide company information and operation timings, and track messages.

“Funds, team coordination, acquiring and managing clients are the main challenges we had, and the app is helping us with that,” says Shobhit. Additionally, he says that it’s a great substitute for emails to send product images, pitch your service, and interact with clients directly.
“Our mantra is to make the renting process hassle-free and safe,” says Sumit. “No more dealing with high brokerages, fake promises, time wastage, and bad services.”
