Dog lovers Antonia Moura and Daniela Prado originally bonded over caring for their ailing pets. Wanting an alternative to industrialized dog food that was not good for their sick pups, in 2014, they launched PetChef, a service which makes and delivers fresh, chemical and preservative-free pet food in Rio de Janeiro.
Word-of-mouth helped PetChef grow quickly, so from the beginning, Antonia and Daniela used WhatsApp to coordinate everything from production to customer orders. In December 2018, they transitioned to the WhatsApp Business app to formalize how they connect with their 500 clients — most of whom are subscribers to their weekly delivery plans.

Since making the switch, the company has witnessed a 50 percent increase in the number of messages it receives, with about 10 customers reaching them daily. Today, they say, the WhatsApp Business app facilitates 80 percent of PetChef’s external communications.
Their business profile means potential customers can learn about PetChef easily, and away messages help them connect with customers around the clock. For Antonia, the WhatsApp Business app, “Makes it much easier to find the right information and make quick decisions.”

One customer turned to their services after two of her dogs were diagnosed with allergies to traditional dog food. She reached out via WhatsApp to learn more about PetChef’s services and ended up exchanging details about pet diets and improving their quality of life.
Antonia and Daniela want to reach more dog lovers with their healthy food alternatives and today, with the efficiency the WhatsApp Business app brings to their business, they can spend more time doing what they love: perfecting PetChef recipes to create delicious — and nutritious — doggy diets.
