We are seeking a motivated, highly-organized, detail-oriented candidate with impeccable judgment to serve as a specialist for law enforcement and safety matters. You must have flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, business and organizational needs. In addition, you must have the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, small but growing environment and work proactively with various teams across the organization, including business, product, customer support, communications, policy, and growth. This is a full-time position based in WhatsApp’s offices in Menlo Park, California. The position will report to WhatsApp’s Law Enforcement & Safety Manager.


  • Document and implement policies, procedures and reporting relating to law enforcement and safety.
  • Interface with internal teams as needed.
  • Coordinate response efforts to relevant government agencies.
  • Engage with government agencies globally as appropriate.
  • Work with relevant counsel.
  • Evaluate WhatsApp’s products and technology and make recommendations.
  • Work with a variety of stakeholders across customer support, policy and legal.
  • Willing and able to work maturely with sensitive issues relating to network integrity, such as spam, security, child safety, and other such content.
  • Be on-call for emergencies
  • Available for after-hours and weekend duty.

Minimum Qualification

  • B.A. or B.S. degree.
  • 5+ years experience in a role developing a law enforcement program in a corporate, in-house environment
  • Experience working with law enforcement agencies.
  • Experience working with government agencies.
  • Experience working with and managing outside counsel.
