As part of WhatsApp''s policy team, this person will drive key regulatory and programatic engagements across the country. They will advocate for key values of WhatsApp such as end to end encryption and the rich business enabling features on WhatsApp. They will be a part of a high functioning team which leads, supports and contributes towards key advocacy and programatic goals for Meta. This role could also involve representing the company in external speaking opportunities
Responsibilities
Create & drive an engagement strategy with key regulators for WhatsApp
Advocate externally in support of key features for Indian businesses & regulations that will support adoption by industry
Support monetisation & overall product goals across internal stakeholders including business, product teams and policy
Oversee key programs for Whatsapp in support of advocacy goals such as financial inclusion and small businesses
Represent and be the voice on India specific regulatory issues and perspective to internal stakeholders
Minimum Qualification
10+ years of experience in the field of public policy
Post Graduate degree in any public advocacy, economics or any other related subject
Experience of direct engagement with regulators and senior policy makers
Ability to advocate in in public forums and represent the organisation externally
Cross functional skills and decision making ability in complex & ambiguous situations
Design & implement policy programs in line with product advocacy goals
Preferred Qualification
Bachelors or/and Masters degree in Law or in the field of technology
Prior experience of leading a policy team of more than 3 - 5 members for a technology company
