Facebook is looking for an Internal Communications Manager to support the WhatsApp organization. WhatsApp operates the world’s largest end-to-end encrypted messaging service for over 2 billion users, and every day protects over 100 billion messages sent on the service. This person should be passionate about privacy and security and excited about working on a product with a global footprint.
The role of the Internal Communications Manager is to serve as the organization’s internal communications advisor, responsible for developing and executing an internal communications strategy for the organization. This requires an ability to work collaboratively with executives and colleagues alike. WhatsApp has primary offices in both Menlo Park and London and this role will work closely with teams in both locations.
It’s also critical that this person can consistently deliver high-quality work under time constraints and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment. Experience in developing and executing proactive communication plans, managing cross-functional projects, and developing programming around multi-dimensional topics is preferred.
Develop and execute proactive and strategic communication initiatives in partnership with the WhatsApp leadership team
Understand the unique needs of product, engineering, and business teams (goals, products, tools, process) in order to produce effective and relevant communication strategies
Write and develop messaging around various topics, including organization strategy, priorities, and announcements
Partner with the human resources business partners (HRBPs) on their communication and change management strategies
Evaluate new and existing communication channels based on the needs of the organization
Understand WhatsApp’s role in the broader company and identify strategic opportunities to share organization milestones
25% travel including domestic and international
Bachelor's degree and 10+ years professional experience working in corporate communications, political campaigns, or nonprofit mission-driven communications
Experience producing content for internal audiences at varying levels across and organization
Experience moderating all-hands events and logistics
Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously and to work autonomously
Experience with change management communications and counseling organizational leaders
Experience writing and turning complex information into relevant, engaging, timely and valuable content
Experience in public relations, branding and campaigns
Experience communicating to an employee population of technologists and engineers
Experience in the technology industry
