Shri Jagadguru Badari Shankaracharya Samsthanam, Shrividyapeetam- Shrikshetra Shakatapuram, is one of the oldest Dharmapeetams of Bharat, tracing its origin to Shri Thotakacharya, who was the first Peetadhipati of Uttaraamnaya Jyotishpeetam established by Shri Adishankara Bhagavadpada in Badarikashrama. Situated on the banks of Tunga river, ShrikshetraShakatapuram (Koppa Taluk in Karnataka) is a serene place described in Brahmandapurana as a Siddhikshetra, where Shakatamaharishi did his penance. This Peetam is adorned by an unbroken lineage of illuminous Acharyas for over six centuries. Present Peetadhipati, ShriJagadguru ShriVidhyabhinava Shri Shri Krishnanandateertha Mahaswamigal, 33rd Acharya in the lineage, is a Shrividyopasaka of highest order in recent times, and is being worshiped as SHRIVIDYA TAPONIDHI, SHRIVIDYAMUKUTAMANI & SHRIVIDYA SADHAKOTTAMA by devotees all over the world. Brahmandapurana declares that any Tapas, Yagna, Homa & Daana conducted in Shrikshetrashakatapuram will yield immediate and multifold benefits to the doer.
